Demonica

Note: What is written below is a short snippet, so to speak, of how humans perceived (and still perceive) that of the Demon Priestess over the centuries. The name they gave her and which she still uses from time to time is "Demonica"; a name that spreads fear but also awe into the hearts of those who hear it. Anyway, with that said, enjoy (hopefully)!

"Is that...No, it can`t be the woman from the stories; the legends!" "But it is...It definitely is!" "She`s more beautiful and deadly-looking than what they, the legends, told us!" came the hurried whispers and thoughts the crimson-eyed, golden-haired creature - deemed by herself that of the Demon Priestess - heard and read from the people as she passed them; a cold smile curling her lips as she did, knowing that they feared her...and had every right to...but also that they were in awe of her and wished to know what sort of creature as she could be, well, real.

With a little laugh and a shake of her head, the female continued to move through the crowds of people as if she had not a care in the world....and, indeed, she did not. She only wished to know what the people - the Humans - thought of her or what the legends and so-called stories about her caused them to believe. Her cold smile widened as she, upon looking at a few of them head on with those crimson-red eyes of hers, saw the fear chasing the awe and back again on their features as well as in their minds.

Upon seeing the wide, open space in the middle of the crowds, the Demon Priestess suddenly headed that way; not really caring if the people drew back and away from her in fear of touching her...in fear of making contact with the one that easily stole fear and awe into that of their hearts. Once she came to the open space, she stood right in the middle of it and raised her arms while staring all around her at the faces of the people; that cold smile still on her lips as she did so. At seeing they would not be going anywhere for the moment, she then closed her eyes and willed up the magic that ran through her veins so that it visibly crackled and leaped along her skin that could be seen before allowing it to pulse outwards from her; waiting for when the gasps of surprise and, perhaps, even little screams to begin...but there was nothing but absolute silence or, rather, the constant murmurings of one word.

Opening her crimson-red eyes, a mild shock of surprise ran through her slim frame upon seeing them, the Humans, all on their knees and continuously bowing down to her as if she was some sort of God in need of worship and...suddenly...the Demon Priestess realized what they were doing; what they were saying. They were worshiping her and praising her with the name of "Demonica" - a name that was, more or less, what she had given herself but in a different way.

Her eyes of bright crimson-red gleamed with delight even as she began to laugh that laugh of hers, a laugh the echoed against the many buildings surrounding her and the people; a laugh that spoke to the fear and awe racing through the hearts of them who worshiped her.

And that`s what she became known as through the centuries, all the way up to the present day...

...Demonica.

Upon stumbling across it in searching for songs to `represent` me, I thought it appropriate in terms that Demons do bring Hell to that of the Humans they torment over and over again...but, of course, you won`t be able to get that image - so to speak - from the lyrics, sadly.
